Your privacy when using this website (www.powerofantibiotics.org) (“Website”) is of utmost importance to GARDP Foundation (“GARDP”).
GARDP may obtain personal data from you either directly, from your interactions with this Website, or from your participation in social media accounts maintained by GARDP. “Personal Data” is any information about you that identifies you directly or indirectly, either alone or in combination with other information made available to GARDP. GARDP is responsible for the collection and processing of your Personal Data, as it decides why it is collected and how it is then used. GARDP thereby acts as the “Data Controller” of your Personal Data.
GARDP is committed to protecting your privacy by ensuring a high level of protection of your Personal Data. GARDP has put in place appropriate technical and organizational measures in order to prevent unauthorized access to your Personal Data and to ensure a sufficiently high level of security in relation to the inherent risk involved in data processing, to meet regulatory demands and to protect your rights and your data from the moment your data is collected.
What personal data does GARDP collect?
Information that you provide to GARDP voluntarily:
When you submit a story to us: the minimum mandatory information collected is your name (if you wish you can use an alias), your email address, your location / country, your age, and your story. You may choose to submit a photo with your story, but this is not mandatory.
When submitting your story, be mindful of the information that you send to us. You should avoid giving personal details about another individual unless you have their consent to do so.
If you are under 16 years old, you should have a parental authorization to submit your story. We will ask about this when we contact you.
When you subscribe to our Newsletter: the minimum mandatory information collected is your email address; additional information may be provided if you wish to do so.
The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data for the purpose of sending your story to us or sending you Newsletters is your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time and ask us to delete the data that you have sent to us – please see the section below about your rights.
What GARDP does with your personal information
GARDP uses the information that we have received from you, only for the purposes listed below:
• Contact you in relation to the story you have sent to us and for the management of this story, including publishing with your consent and use of your story in our campaigns;
• Provide you with information and services that you request from GARDP;
• Provide access to such services and interactive features on our sites that you have subscribed to and to notify you of any changes;
• Administer this Website and for internal analytical and technical purposes, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical, and survey purposes;
• Improve this Website and ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer and
• Use efforts to keep this Website safe and secure.
How GARDP shares your personal data
Your Personal Data can be accessed by, or transferred to, our personnel or consultants.
GARDP also shares your Personal Data with the following parties under appropriate legal bases or/and transfer mechanisms:
• Any GARDP regional offices on a worldwide basis to the extent that they need to have access to your Personal Data for the purposes set out in the above section;
• Suppliers and service providers to the extent necessary for GARDP’s legitimate business purposes and provided that GARDP has put in place adequate agreements to protect your data;
• Analytics and search engine providers that assist GARDP in the improvement and optimization of this Website; and,
GARDP will only otherwise disclose your Personal Data to any other third parties if GARDP is under a duty to disclose or share your personal data to comply with any legal obligation, or to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or to protect the property, rights or safety of GARDP, our licensors or others.
How and where GARDP stores your personal data
The data that GARDP collects from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of Switzerland and the European Economic Area (”EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside of Switzerland and the EEA who work for GARDP or for one of our suppliers. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the provision of support services. Such countries may offer a different level of protection of Personal Data, which is not equivalent to the level of protection of Personal Data than the protection provided in Switzerland or in European Union or European Economic Area. GARDP ensures equivalent guarantees regarding Personal Data protection standards are implemented, such as appropriate legal arrangements before transferring your data, in accordance with the law.
All information you provide to GARDP is stored on our secure servers or secure servers managed on GARDP’s behalf.
GARDP will only store the data that GARDP holds about you for as long as necessary for the purpose you provided it for. Beyond that, GARDP may retain data to comply with our legal and contractual obligations for a duration in accordance with the applicable laws or regulations.
GARDP retains data for as long as it is necessary for the intended purposes, no more than five years unless GARDP needs to retain it for longer to comply with our legal and contractual obligations.
GARDP will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with applicable laws.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for the access to, amendment, restriction or deletion of your Personal Data at any time. You also have the right to remove your consent to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of your consent, and to object to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of GARDP legitimate interests. You can also ask to be transferred, to you or a person of your choice, your Personal Data. You can exercise and enforce your rights at any time by contacting GARDP at mydataprivacy@gardp.org. If you feel that GARDP has not appropriately handled the matter, you also have the right to refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) of Switzerland.
